Knightsの由来
-Origin of the Name Knights-
Knightsというチーム名には、感謝と敬意が込められています。チームを立ち上げたオーナー兼GMのKosukeがカナダ留学中に居場所と仕事を与えてくださったのが、AlbanyAvenue Basketball Association(ABA)のCoach SeanをはじめとするABAの皆様でした。
彼らが運営するチーム、ABA Toronto Knightsへのリスペクトを込め、日本で彼らのように関係者・地域から愛されるチームにするという思いから「Knights」という名を引き継ぎました。
ただの名称ではなく、原点と恩に報いる想いを忘れないという決意が、ここにあります。
The name “Knights” carries a deep sense of gratitude and respect.
When our owner and GM, Kosuke, was studying in Canada, it was Coach Sean and the members of the AlbanyAvenue Basketball Association (ABA) who welcomed him, gave him a place to belong, and offered him opportunities to work.
To honor the ABA Toronto Knights—the team they operate—and with the desire to build a club in Japan that is equally respected and loved by its community, we chose to carry on the name “Knights.”
For us, this is not merely a name.
It represents our origin, our appreciation, and our commitment to never forget the people who supported us.

Knightsにはどんな選手がいるのか。
-What kind of players in the Knights-
Knightsには多種多様なバックグラウンドを持つ個性あふれた選手達が在籍しています。U12 Bユースチーム出身者をはじめ、U15Bユースチームや強豪クラブ・ミニバスチーム、インターナショナルスクール生や帰国子女など、活力に溢れたメンバーで日々Play Hard, Have Funを掲げて真剣に楽しくバスケットに取り組んでいます。
Knights is home to players with a wide range of backgrounds and unique personalities.
Our team includes former U12 B Youth members, current and former U15 B Youth players, members of top-tier club and mini-basketball teams, international school students, and returnees from overseas.
Every day, this energetic and diverse group practices with the spirit of “Play Hard, Have Fun,” approaching basketball with both seriousness and joy.

バスケットをする”だけ”でなく、バスケット”から”学べ
-Don’t just play basketball — learn from it-
10代という限られた時間を、バスケットをすること“だけ”に捧げてよいのでしょうか。
もし100人の選手がいたとして、そのうち何人が「バスケットだけで生きていく」未来を歩めるでしょうか。
Knightsは、バスケットの技術向上だけを目的としたクラブではありません。
「バスケットを通じて、人としての力を伸ばす。」これを最も大切なミッションとしています。
チームには、将来プロを目指す選手もいれば、バスケット以外の分野に夢を持つ選手もいます。
練習や試合で経験する“壁”や“葛藤”、そして“学び”を糧に、どのようなフィールドでも活躍できる人になってほしい。それがKnightsの願いです。
AI時代の到来により、世界はこれまで以上のスピードで変化しています。だからこそ、自ら学び続ける姿勢を重視しています。 コーチ陣もバスケットだけでなく、多様な分野の学習に取り組み、その姿勢を日々選手たちに示しています。
私たちが目指しているのは、“選手としての成長”ではなく、“人としての成長”です。
そして、せっかくなら世界中の人々と関わり、学びの幅を大きく広げてほしい。
Knightsにはインターナショナルスクールに通う選手が全体の3分の1以上在籍し、日常的に英語が飛び交っています。
自然な英語を耳にし、使う環境は、他ではなかなか得られません。
スポーツを通じて仲間と意見を交わし、プレーの意図や判断を言語化しながら考えを整理する中で、選手たちは自然と「考える力」を身につけていきます。
この力こそが、Knightsが大切にしている教育の根幹です。
Should teenagers devote their limited years entirely to playing basketball?
If there were one hundred young athletes, how many of them could truly build a future “living only through basketball”?
Knights is not a club that exists solely to improve basketball skills.
Our core mission is to help young people grow as human beings through basketball.
Within our team, some players dream of becoming professionals, while others aspire to careers outside the sport.
Through the walls they hit, the conflicts they face, and the lessons they gain in practices and games, we want every player to develop the strength to succeed in any field they choose. That is Knights’ wish.
As the era of AI accelerates change faster than ever before, the ability to keep learning independently has become essential.
Our coaches lead by example—continuously studying not only basketball but also a wide range of fields.
What we aim for is not just “growth as athletes,” but growth as individuals.
And if they are to grow, we want them to expand their world—connecting with people around the globe and broadening their learning.
More than one-third of our players attend international schools, creating an environment where English is used naturally every day.
Such daily exposure to real, living English is something few programs can offer.
Through sports, players discuss ideas with teammates, articulate the intention behind their plays and decisions, and learn to organize their thoughts.
This ability to think—to analyze, express, and reflect—is at the very heart of Knights’ educational philosophy.

全力で、真剣に、楽しむ。
バスケットを“全力で”“真剣に”“楽しむ”- Play, Hard, Have Fun。これがKnights Style / Knights PRIDEです。大切なのは、ただ楽しく“遊ぶ”ことではありません。仲間とともにチームを育て、強くして勝利を目指す。できることをひとつずつ増やし、自分を深く知り、冷静な判断と努力によって上達していく――
その先にある「勝負」と「成長」、「達成感」こそが、本質的な“楽しさ”であると私たちは考えています。
バスケットに真剣に向き合い、成長を喜び、仲間とその瞬間を分かち合う。このサイクルを何度も繰り返すことで、選手は変わり続けていきます。Knightsは、全力で楽しむ姿勢を大切にします。努力の中にも笑顔があり、バスケットを楽しみながら。
バスケットを通して、かけがえのない思い出を刻んでいきます。

What matters is not simply “having fun” as play.
It is about building and strengthening a team with your teammates, striving for victory, adding new skills one by one, understanding yourself deeply, and improving through calm decision-making and consistent effort.
We believe that the true essence of “fun” lies in the competition, growth, and sense of accomplishment that come beyond those efforts.
When players face basketball with sincerity, celebrate their progress, and share those moments with their teammates, they begin to transform.
Knights values the attitude of enjoying the game with everything you have—because within effort, there are smiles, and within challenge, there is joy.
